Retirement in Colombia Tags: expat Retirement, ColombiaDonett Holmes from Blanchard, Oklahoma -
My husband and I are in our 50's, newlyweds, teachers and retiring from Oklahoma. We want to live in Columbia on the outskirts of a city on a farm that has a home that we can remodel. We want to be by good health care and a reasonable distance to the airport and to the beach(we don't have those here you know). We don't know where to start in this process and would like to have all the info we can get on this process. We are just jumping in with both feet on this deal. You only go around once!! Trackbacks

Start your search around Cartenga or Santa Marta (less foreign tourists). Not sure how far in the outskirts you want to be (that's where Colombia becomes dangerous)... or if you like the Caribbean look at San Andres. You can actually find snow near Santa Marta... but you need to climb up a mountain which probably requires an Indian guide and a lot of time.
