'buying property' Real Estate

I want to purchase a farm just outside of Medellin. I currently have a student visa but I am waiting for my work visa to come through. I have been in Medellin exactly one year.

Must I buy with a Colombian ... if so what percentage each? Must I pay cash? In what ways am I vulnerable? ... i.e., foreign property ownership laws, etc.

Any information or tips for another link would be much appreciated.

Lynn, it seems to be that you have an intention of staying in Medllin for lot longer time. I am not sure a work visa will guarantee you ability to buy property..why not try look for permanent residence.

The obvious threat that you are liable to is of course residents taking advantage of you. Make sure you contact real and not dubious real estate agents and take time to acquaint yourself with the country's laws.
