This is a group for support and social networking geared towards bi-cultural American/Latin couples who are married or in a serious, committed relationship. It is free and run through Facebook. Many couples of different cultural backgrounds have difficulty adjusting to each others culture. It takes a lot of patience, work and communication.
Being happily married to a Colombian myself, there were many things that we had to deal with as a couple in the first years of our relationship, and there were times I wish I had someone around for support, and other couples to hang out with, that shared our bi-cultural background, hence the creation of this group.
Through the years I have had the opportunity to help, assist and support many men and women with the growing pains inherent in bi-cultural couples and their particular needs - with positive results - and hope this group is of service to others. I also hope to see couples networking and developing relationships with other like minded couples.
This group is designed to foster support for couples who are going through the visa process, dealing with financial issues, language difficulties, variances in cultural morays and any other issue that my crop up in a bi-cultural relationship, and for general social networking and friendship.
As it expands I hope to develop Meet-Up groups in different areas of the country where couples can meet to hang out and enjoy each others company.
Please note that this is not a therapy group or a dating site, it's strictly a group for support and social networking, for American men and Latin women or visa-versa. I'm the admin and screen prospective members in order to maintain the integrity of the group and what I am trying to accomplish. I'm sure you will find it very helpful.
